Dubai World said today operational management relating to the real estate activities of some of its companies is being consolidated to better accommodate current market conditions and optimise resources and expertise.The real estate development and property management activities of Dubai Maritime City, Leisurecorp, and Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre will be managed by Nakheel going forward.The changes have no impact on the day-to-day core business of the companies.Integration planning is currently underway with the assistance of consultants Alix Partners, and that process will be completed over the summer.

Dubai World underlined it is a key player in the real estate business in Dubai and across the world, and its developments and brands have invigorated the industry, re-defining what is possible through its companies’ imagination, efforts, and dedication.It said it is extremely proud of what it has achieved and that it intends to continue to be a leader in the real estate business. It added that these decisions will help it better meet the needs of customers and position it for future success.
 


Dubai Customs Becomes Investor Partner Of DQG

Dubai Customs has become an Investor Partner of Dubai Quality Group (DQG), which is a highest profile membership of DQG.Mr. Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Director General of Dubai Customs was given a certificate of partnership by Mr. Osama Al Rahma, Vice-Chairman of the Board while receiving DQG delegates yesterday Tuesday 16th June 09 at Customs main building.The DQG membership is awarded to public and private establishments having made remarkable achievements in the area of promoting quality and business excellence.Dubai Customs membership with DQG is a new phase of establishing strategic cooperation and consolidating its 10 year strong relations with DQG, reflecting continuous communication and sharing expertise with different government agencies.With this membership, Dubai Customs will have a number of benefits particularly those aiming at improving quality and services, developing employees’ expertise and capability and cooperation among members.At the beginning of the meeting Mr. Butti praised DQG role over the past 10 years in developing and inculcating concepts of quality and excellence considering it a leading establishment regionally and internationally in the domain.From their part, DQG delegates lauded Dubai Customs efforts in implementing quality standards, which made it a leading customs administration in the world confident of its clients.“Dubai Customs has strong and historical relations with DQG. Dubai Customs Takes Part In Wollongong University Career Fair

Dubai Customs would participate in the events of The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) Career Fair scheduled to take place on Wednesday 25th March 2009 at the Knowledge Village in Dubai, a move aiming at offering career opportunities available in Dubai Customs to the highly qualified UAE national youths.

Over 20 private organizations would be participating in the exhibition as well as Dubai Customs being the only government participant.

Dubai Customs would be having its own stand showcasing the available recruitment opportunities and application methods. Different handbooks identifying Dubai Customs` core business and role in serving the local community and contributing to its growth and welfare would be given out to students.

The other participating companies and organizations have secured their own stands where each would be offering the available career opportunities enabling students and graduates to apply for whatsoever fitting them. Students would in turn submit their profiles seeking jobs matching their capability and competency.

The exhibition would be attended by almost 300 graduates or those who are about to graduate from University of Willington to view career opportunities being offered by the participating organizations.
