Dubai School Of Government Signs MoU With Young Presidents’ Organization

The Dubai School of Government, a research and teaching institution focusing on public policy in the Arab world, today announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) for collaboration on strategic knowledge- sharing initiatives.

Dr. Tarik Yousef, Dean of the Dubai School of Government, signed the agreement with Waleed Al-Banawi, Incoming Regional Chairman of YPO for Middle East and North Africa.

YPO is a global network of young chief executives that connects 17,000 peers and their families in 100 countries to learn, exchange ideas and address the challenges leaders face today. YPO boasts over 500 members in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Under the agreement, the two entities will work strategically towards sharing mutual resources and networks of contacts, in addition to exploring partnership opportunities for launching joint initiatives and programs in the region.

DSG will specifically contribute to the development and delivery of leadership and public policy programs for YPO members and YPO graduates, who will also gain access to DSG’s faculty for its conferences and seminars in the region. Executive education programs will also be developed by the Dubai School of Government for the members and member organizations of YPO. DSG’s core offerings will be communicated to YPO members and graduates worldwide.

Dubai School Of Government Hosts Young Achievers From US And UAE

The Dubai School of Government, a research and teaching institution focusing on public policy in the Arab world, today announced it hosted 18 American and 10 Emirati students under the Emirati-American Young Leaders Cultural Exchange programme.

Sponsored by the Emirates Foundation, the programme has historically attracted high achievers who have gone on to occupy prominent positions; Jon Favreau, the current chief speech writer for the US President Barack Obama was a previous participant in the programme, which currently includes a number of Truman Scholars from the United States.

During their visit to DSG, the group and their Emirati hosts met with Dr. Tarik Yousef, Dean of the Dubai School of Government, and other faculty members to exchange ideas and experiences.

Highlighting the pioneering role of the Dubai School of Government, Dr. Yousef outlined the School’s contribution to shaping the Emirate’s governance agenda. He noted that the School is attracting scholars and researchers from across the world in its endeavour to create intellectual capital, the mainstay of any knowledge-based economy.
 


GETEX Dubai 2009 Opens Wednesday At Dubai International Convention And Exhibition Centre

The 21st edition of GETEX Dubai, the Middle East’s leading education fair, will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from Wednesday (April 15, 2009) to Saturday (April 18, 2009) under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Featuring the four segments of Student Recruitment, HRD & Training, Careers 2009, and Education Equipment and Technology 2009, GETEX Dubai 2009 will gather learners, academics, job seekers, education procurement specialists and other stakeholders in the region’s education sector to interact, network, conduct business-to-business activities and exchange ideas.
