Gargash Enterprises Launches ’Exclusive’ Used Car Program

Gargash Enterprises, the official distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, has launched an approved used car program called ‘Proven Exclusivity’ for vehicles under six years old that have been driven less than 150,000 kilometres.

“This program ensures peace of mind for our customers who will get the opportunity to buy a manufacturer-backed vehicle with GCC specifications that has undergone a complete multipoint check before being put on the market,” said Yousuf Bhailia, Senior Manager, Gargash Enterprises Approved Used Car Division. “As well as providing the best available used Mercedes-Benz vehicles, we are also a one-stop-shop for insurance and, through our strong relationships many of the UAE’s most prominent finance houses, we can provide customers with a variety of competitive tailor-made finance schemes to suit their needs.”

All Proven Exclusivity vehicles are registered with MB NET – Mercedes-Benz Net – the global Mercedes registration system which checks chassis numbers, service and car repair histories, ensuring customers of the highest standards of quality and safety as well as total vehicle transparency. Extension of construction grace period in lands granted to UAE nationals for five more years

The construction grace period in the lands granted to UAE nationals in Dubai for the residential purposes, has been extended to five more years. The newly extended grace period will be effective the following day of the expiry date of the first period in Feb. 2010.Issued by Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the grace period order, aims at providing another opportunity for the beneficiaries to re-arrange their construction procedures without pressures. The move will also help them benefit from the lower current prices of the building materials.Mohammed Al Shebani, director of Dubai Ruler’s Court, Board Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE), thanked Sheikh Mohammed for this kind gesture, which reflects his follow up of living conditions of the citizens.. He added that the move comes in the wake of Sheikh Mohammed’s waiver of the special administrative fees, which used to be paid by the beneficiaries to the MBRHE when they got the residential units.Sami Al Gargash, executive director of the MBRHE, said that it was natural for Sheikh Mohammed to make such a move, citing the lands granted by the MBRHE five years ago to the UAE nationals and the new grace period to further allow them build their houses.The lands were allocated for the UAE nationals for five years. As the construction ultimatum will expire by Feb. 2010, another grace period was issued to give them sufficient time to build their houses.
 

HE Dr. Anwar Gargash Launches Dubai School of Government Alumni Association

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Federal National Council Affairs and Chairman of the DSG Board of Trustees, today inaugurated the Dubai School of Government Alumni Association.

High-ranking government officials, various heads of private and public sector organizations and business leaders from throughout the region attended the event, which was held at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The Dubai School of Government (DSG) also announced the appointment of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, as the first Honorary President of the DSG Alumni Association. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan is an alumnus of a specialized training program from the School, which is the first in the region to offer curricula in public policy and administration through partnerships with globally renowned institutions.

Dr. Tarik Yousef, Dean of the Dubai School of Government, said: “The launch of the DSG Alumni Association is a significant milestone for the School. It celebrates the accomplishments of our alumni and ensures that every past student of the institution remains connected. The new body is also an effective platform to keep these professionals informed of the latest developments in public policy, while providing them with continued access to DSG’s community of policy experts.

“It is an honor for the association to be chaired by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan, who is one of our distinguished graduates. During the inauguration ceremony, the School also honored the contributions of HE Mr. Nabil Alyousuf. As Executive President, Mr. Alyousuf has guided the development of the School since its inception in 2005. Mr. Alyousuf is also Vice Chair of the Dubai School of Government’s Board of Trustees.
