Al Jaber LEGT Engineering And Contracting Opens Operations At Dubai Industrial City

Dubai Industrial City, a member of TECOM Investments, today announced Al Jaber LEGT Engineering and Contracting (ALEC) LLC, opened its new factory on a 420,000 sq ft plot at the machinery and equipment zone of the industrial destination.

With five manufacturing/processing divisions including rebar, formwork, MEP, ceiling and partition as well as facilities management divisions, the new facility aims to serve the projects undertaken by the construction division of the parent company ALEC.

Infrastructure Works Gathers Pace At Dubai Industrial City

Dubai Industrial City, the region’s leading manufacturing and logistics destination and a member of TECOM Investments, today announced it has appointed industry leaders Wade Adams as contractors to finalize the second phase of infrastructure work. The project is expected to be completed in October 2011.

The scope of work includes the completion of all sewage, water and irrigation and remaining road works as well as the construction of telecommunication networks and DEWA electrical ducts to serve all facilities and active developments.

The scope of proposed works will also include all required testing and commissioning of utilities works.

The project will be managed by TAMDEEN, TECOM’s specialized project management entity.

Dubai Industrial City Signs Memorandum Of Cooperation With Entrepreneurs Forum

Dubai Industrial City, a member of TECOM Investments, today announced it has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the UAE-based Entrepreneurs Forum in support of a joint effort by the two organizations to create a platform for encouraging and supporting UAE nationals to actively participate in the growth of the national economy and establish the concept of self-employment among young citizens.

The initiative also aims to develop the small and medium enterprise sector in the region, through the exchange of experience and management practices.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Abdullah Belhoul, Managing Director – Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster, and Abdul Sahib Al Sajwani, Secretary of the Entrepreneurs Forum.

Belhoul said: “We are committed to fostering the growth of the small and medium enterprise sector in the UAE and increasing the participation of nationals in the industrial sector. The agreement will enable members of the Entrepreneurs Forum to have access to various industrial facilities that the city provides at preferential rates as well as support in terms of shared experience and best practices.”

Dubai Industrial City will provide facilities for members of the Entrepreneurs Forum in the leasing of warehouses, labour accommodation and commercial offices, establishing industrial projects and marketing their products through internal and external marketing channels.
