Visa cardholders are being given even more incentive to enjoy some of Dubai’s best loved restaurants and bars this summer, with the launch of a new promotion in conjunction with Jumeirah Group.
The offer, which runs from now until the end of September, gives Visa cardholders the chance to enjoy one of four special offers at selected Jumeirah signature and casual restaurants, as well as bars and nightlife venues, depending on the type of Visa card they have.
All Visa debit and credit cardholders can enjoy 20 per cent off food and beverages at 30 casual dining venues across Jumeirah hotels during lunch and dinner (except Jumeirah Emirates Towers, with the discount valid during dinner only). And, after a great meal, they can unwind further in one of 15 participating bars and nightlife venues with a special buy-two-get-one-free offer on selected house beverages.
Visa Infinite and Visa Platinum cardholders can also enjoy one complimentary bottle of a selected beverage for tables of two to four guests when dining at one of Jumeirah’s participating signature restaurants, or alternatively opt for a complimentary dessert for up to four persons.

Jumeirah Brand Ambassador Rory McIlroy Wins His First US Open Title

Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hotel company and member of Dubai Holding, celebrates the victory of its global brand ambassador, golfer Rory McIlroy, in the US Open at the Congressional Country Club, Bethesda, Maryland, USA.
22-year-old Rory McIlroy led the tournament from start to finish, the first to do this since Tiger Woods in 2000. During the tournament he reached 16 under par, the lowest under-par score in US Open history.

Jumeirah Restaurants Set To Open The Ivy On 9 June 2011

The highly anticipated Ivy restaurant is set to open its doors in Dubai, taking forward the long-standing tradition of the international brassiere in London, in partnership with Jumeirah Restaurants.
The Ivy in Dubai will share the same standards of food, ambience and service as The Ivy in London, but will also take on board the best that Dubai has to offer. Located on the ground floor of The Boulevard, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, The Ivy will welcome diners from 9 June 2011.
Designed by Martin Brudnizki, the restaurant will serve as an ideal place for lunch, dinner or simply a drink at the bar. Housing a private dining room and a 60-seat terrace, The Ivy will offer a brassiere-style menu with a selection of classics, such as its world famous shepherd’s pie, Dover sole, and Scandinavian iced berries with hot white chocolate sauce. Dishes from around the world such as sashimi and Thai-baked sea bass are some of the other favourites The Ivy will offer.

Jumeirah To Operate Luxury Resort On Anguilla

Jumeirah, the Dubai-based luxury hotel group and member of Dubai Holding, has signed a management agreement with Conch Bay Development Ltd, the development company owned by the Kentish and Lake families, to operate a luxury resort hotel and residences on the island of Anguilla, British West Indies, in the Caribbean. Development of the project will be coordinated by PN Holdings LLC, an entity formed by companies affiliated with Robert A. Petrallia and golf legend Jack Nicklaus.
On completion the Jumeirah Anguilla Resort project will consist of a 140-room Jumeirah luxury hotel with a spacious spa, conference facilities and beach clubs, as well as 460 residential units, which will also be managed by Jumeirah. Renowned golf course designer Jack Nicklaus is creating a championship 18-hole "Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course" for the Jumeirah Anguilla Resort. His Signature Course will run along a magnificent stretch of oceanfront property with several holes playing to or along the water. The course will offer spectacular views across the sea to the beautiful peaks of St. Maarten.

UAE Jet Ski Championship Held Off The Coast Of The Walk At Jumeirah Beach Residence During New Years Weekend

The Gulfwater offthe coast ofThe Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), a Dubai Properties Group destination, was the host venue for the UAE Jet Ski Championship over New Year’s weekend, organised by Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC).
Held on1 January 2011, the event offeredspectators extraordinary Jet Ski racing action on the beachfront along with an opportunity to see riders demonstrate a range of gravity-defying jumps and demanding turns.
Jun Ikoma from Japan won the Free Style event and World Champion Nadir Bin Hendi from the UAE had a convincing win in the Pro Runabout GP class. Steven Dauliach from France took the top prize in the Pro Ski GP with the UAE’s Saif Mohammed Saif Al Ma’asam winning the Junior Ski. In addition Omar Abdullah Rashid won the Ski Limited for the UAE and Kuwait’s Mohammed Jasem Al Baz won in the Runabout Stock.
The Walk has hosted several successful eventson shore including cultural, art and entertainment activities throughout the year, but this is the first time the destination hasbeen chosen for watersports along the promenade.
Following thesuccess of this weekend’s event, the second round of the Jet Ski Championships will be held at The Walk on January 8th.
The Walk, one of the most sought-after venues in Dubai, consistently contributes to enhancing the emirate’s tourism objectives.

Following the successful launch of Jumeirah Group’s Facebook room reservations tool and recognising the channel shift in communications, the Group has taken their service offering to the next level by rolling out a similar booking tool for their restaurants.
Guests and diners can now search for Jumeirah restaurants in Dubai, London and New York by location or cuisine, view all details of the restaurant and reserve a table, all from their own Facebook page.
Both the restaurant and the room reservations tabs are now live on all Jumeirah Facebook pages, from the individual hotels to the Group’s main page, and all are fully mobile phone compatible.

Dubai Duty Free Appoints Jumeirah To Operate Hotel At Aviation Club In Dubai

Dubai Duty Free, the world’s No.1 airport retailer has signed a management agreement with Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hotel company and member of Dubai Holding, to operate a five star luxury hotel at The Aviation Club which is situated close to the Airport on the north side of Al Garhoud Bridge overlooking Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.
The hotel has been carefully designed in a contemporary style that projects understated luxury. It will have 293 guestrooms, 2 restaurants, 2 bars and 2 lounges, as well as a spa and health club, and conference and banqueting facilities. The hotel sits within the grounds of The Aviation Club, the internationally acclaimed sports and leisure complex, home to the Dubai Tennis Championships and the award-winning Irish Village.

Jumeirah Announces Management Appointments for Maldives Resorts

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Dec. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hospitality company and member of Dubai Holding, has announced two management appointments for its two upcoming properties in the Maldives: Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011.
Stefan Huemer joins Jumeirah Group as area general manager for the Maldives, with a particular remit to lead the pre-opening team of Jumeirah’s first two resorts in the Maldives. Mr. Huemer has over 20 years experience in the hospitality sector, having previously worked for international brands such as Radisson, Kempinski, Le Meridien and Mandarin Oriental. His career has included senior hotel positions in Austria, France, Singapore, Philippines and Germany. Most recently, Mr. Huemer was the general manager of Intercontinental Los Angeles Century City Hotel. In fact, Mr. Huemer is no stranger to the Maldives, having been the regional general manager and island chief for the Kuredu & Komandoo Island Resort & Spa for five years.
As part of this latest wave of appointments, Jumeirah is also welcoming Alexandre Hulen, who has been appointed as director of sales & marketing for the Maldives. Mr. Hulen brings 12 years of international experience in the hospitality industry, having worked for prestigious hotel groups such as Concorde Hotels, The Eton Collection, Le Meridien and Anantara. Prior to joining Jumeirah, Alexandre was working for the prestigious Anantara Group, overseeing the Sales and Marketing activities of three luxury hotels in the Maldives.
