Reef Mall Kids Fun-A-Thon Continues Exciting Calendar Of Kids’ Activities And Competitions

Reef Mall, the ideal family shopping destination in Deira, ramps up its Kids Fun-A-Thon activities, as the special summer extravaganza gets through the first two-weeks of exciting kids’ competitions, shows and fun workshops, and gets ready to roll out several more weeks of entertainment guaranteed to bring an added element of fun to the long, summer months.
The Reef Mall Kids Fun-A-Thon, which began on June 24, will see a host of special events unfold from now until July 31, starting off with the Magic Show Workshop from July 15-17. With a bagful of tricks including coin tricks, floating matchboxes, teleportation and rope tricks, participating kids will learn more than a few ways to keep their friends amazed. The brand new magicians will also get a chance to make and take home a special magician’s hat which can be decorated with glittering gemstones for all the little girls in the group.
The Jungle Safari Walk from July 22-24, will give the mall’s youngest visitors will get a taste of the jungle, as they take part in a game that will teach them various animal sounds and test their ability to imitate them, with the most convincing imitator taking home the prize. All kids participating in the Jungle Safari Walk will also get the opportunity to show off their craft skills by making their own maracas from water bottles.
To draw the month-long Kids Fun-A-Thon to an exciting finish, Reef Mall will host the Summer Fun Party on July 29-31, offering kids the chance to show off their acting skills through plays and skits, or vie for the title of the best singer or best dancer through a series of competitions for various age groups. Participants will also have plenty of treats in store with delicious cupcakes and juice on offer for the kids.

The Fancy Dress Photo Shoot from July 9-11 saw the kids done up by a special salon team who gave the participants the works in terms of colourful make-up, nail art and bright highlights. Once dressed up, the kids had their photos taken and were helped to create fun, individual photo-frames that they could carry home as the picture-perfect takeaway.
While the weekend stage shows and workshops actively demonstrate new tricks and treats and invite children to show off their own skills, fun weekday activities including face-painting, temporary tattoos, arts and crafts challenges such as collage and bandana-making, roaming clowns and balloon artists will keep the summer spirit buzzing all through July.

Arabian Center Becomes A Magical Land For Kids This DSS

Arabian Center, the latest hotspot for shopping, leisure and entertainment in Dubai, has fantastic treats and activities lined up for kids during Dubai Summer Surprises 2009. The mall, located on Al Khawaneej Road, Dubai, is hosting numerous activities to keep kids and parents enthralled during every visit as a part of the summer celebrations.
Arabian Center recently hosted exciting performers who presented a variety of acts and fun shows for kids and adults. The acts transported kids into the wilderness with the jungle animal stilt walkers. Depicting the animals of the jungle world, the five performers originally from Italy roved the mall with their tall graceful strides engaging the kids in fun educational activities.
Kids witnessed further excitement at the Arabian Center with mystical characters of the fairytale land. The mall hosted elves and fairytale characters, who cast a spell of magic all around. The fairytale characters came to life and enticed the kids with a comic show, interactive games and lots of gifts were given away.
The Arabian Center will step up to the musical beats of the African Children’s Choir and the Percussion Samba Group on July 23-24, 2009. The mall will also stage the popular Ronald McDonald, the whacky clown character used as the mascot for the McDonalds fast-food restaurant chain on Saturday, July 25, 2009. The Ronald McDonald show promises to be exciting for both children and parents alike with interactive activities, games and magic shows. Fun competitions for kids of all ages with lovely prizes to be won will ensure their enthusiastic involvement along with Ronald’s crazy antics.

Kids Olympic Games Exhilarates Excitement in Dubai Marina Mall as Children Compete for Sports Glory

Dubai Summer Surprises 2009 brought back its much-awaited signature event, the Kids Olympic Games at the Dubai Marina Mall, a member of the Dubai Shopping Malls Group. The event, that began on July 16 and being held until July 22, sees children as young as 8 months and teenagers vie for physically and mentally challenging activities such as baby crawling, basketball race, stacking race, clown race, toy retrieving race, balloon race, tricycle race, frog race, sack race, and car race, among many other categories. The Games is being held this year in cooperation with Dubai Marina Mall.
Hundreds of families with thrilled parents and children alike gathered in the mall to witness and compete in the fun-filled activities at the Kids Olympic Games for the past two days, the weeklong affair had received an overwhelming response from the families that registered their children to participate in the competitions.
The contests are held in 3 zones where Zone 1 is dedicated to infants and toddlers, Zone 2 is for young children and Zone 3 is for teenagers. The safety of these zones is secured through sports mats to avoid any possible injuries. The pretty balloons, toys, lively music and the roaming DSS character clowns add to the festive atmosphere in Dubai Marina Mall. Winners are awarded with certificates, medals and gift vouchers.
In the Baby Walker Race on July 17th, Naoki Isohi took the first place and Rukiyya Mohammed secured the second place. In the Puzzle Race, Fatima, Mohammed, and Maleha, won the first, second, and third places respectively.
In contests in Zone 2, the Baby Marathon saw Hamad, Naseer Al Bana, and Naqiya take the first, second, and third prizes respectively. In the Balloon Race in the same zone, Anoushka secured the first prize, Lana Al Bana won the second, and Mahiba won the third prize.
In the Car Race held at zone 3, Tarekh Al Jarah won the first place, Mohammed Naseer took the second place, and Omar secured the third place.

Dubai Marina Mall, a member of Dubai Shopping Malls Group, will host the 2009 edition of the DSS Signature Event – Kids Olympic Games. The week-long event, held in cooperation with Dubai Marina Mall, will begin on July 16 and go on till July 22 featuring a host of competitions for toddlers and children.The Games this year will feature 20 contests and different age categories to cater to all age groups of children. Tshering Idnani, Senior Events Coordinator of DSF Office said, “Kids Olympic Games is into its seventh consecutive edition and over the years, the popularity of the event as a sporting and entertainment activity has only increased. Dubai Ladies Club Hosts Down Syndrome Children At Confident Kids Summer Camp 2009

Dubai Ladies Club, a member of Dubai Women Establishment, welcomed children from UAE Down Syndrome Association to Confident Kids Summer Camp 2009 organised by The Art Centre. This initiative was part of the group’s main aims to assess and identify opportunities for children with special needs to be integrated within standard mainstream programs and activities.
The campers were encouraged to take advantage of everything the camp has to offer, including participating in all activities and interacting with typical peers. Campers who require full-time support were assisted by an adult guardian at all times including fieldtrips, in order to maximize their comfort and inclusion. Prior to the start of camp, counsellors and staff were provided with sensitization training.
The camp is open to children between 6 – 12 years where activities and classes will be organised into different age groups. All activities have been designed to cater to the skill-levels of each age group and further develop their social, physical, intellectual and artistic abilities. The program will include lessons in music, art, fitness and health. There will also be weekly educational field trips and special visits from professionals to teach children valuable life skills such as first aid, dental hygiene and eye care.
Enrolment for the second batch of Confident Kids Summer Camp is now open. Camp will commence on 12 July until 6 August, 2009. Camp activities will be conducted from Sunday through Thursday, 9:00am-12:00pm.
Fees for the camp is AED1350 per child (for four weeks) or AED 750 (for two weeks); all inclusive of snacks, beverages and transportation for educational field trips.
