Audiences watched in bewilderment as daily-use kitchen and household tools transformed into lively silhouetted characters in puppeteer Jeff Achtem’s Swamp Juice.

Designed to let your imagination run wild, Swamp Juice is a puppet show featuring punk snails, opera-singing mice, and neurotic snakes in a swamp. As with every great performance, its 3D finale is guaranteed to hit all the right notes.

A delightful shadow-and-light show, Swamp Juice combines the joys of comedy, with the unpredictability of a thriller creating an unparalleled theatrical masterpiece.

The region’s first-ever Street Festival, introduced at Dubai Marina Mall, was an overwhelming success, driving robust footfall to the mall.

Dubai Marina Mall, the definitive lifestyle and leisure destination in Dubai Marina and New Dubai, recorded an impressive 40 per cent growth in visitor traffic during the opening weekend of the Street Festival compared to the same period last year.

The colourful activities were a visual treat for visitors as artists from around the world performed awe-inspiring feats that amazed the spectators. The ten-day festival featured an entire gamut of street-style events including jaw-dropping magical acts and rip-roaring clown performances.

With the huge popularity of the Street Festival, Dubai Marina Mall recorded the highest footfall since its opening, a trend that is expected to prevail. The mall plans to make the event an annual feature in its colourful calendar of activities.

Festival Marina Welcomes The Return Of The Dragons

The popular Dubai Dragon Boat Festival is set for an exciting return this April with two days of thrilling races and a host of onshore entertainment on offer at Festival Marina, the stunning creek side of Festival Centre Dubai Festival City.

In its fourth year, the event attracts thousands of competitors and spectators with teams lining up for an action-packed weekend.

The festival, which will be held on Friday 8th April and Saturday 9th April, is hosted by the UAE Dragon Boat Association, Siren Events, UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation and Festival Centre, in association with Mourjan Marinas IGY, the luxury marina developer and management company, and Festival Centre, the venue host.

Jason Mackenzie, Technical Director of the UAE Dragon Boat Association, said: “This event continues to grow in stature and the huge following it has along with the passion people have for dragon boating makes for a wonderful day out for the family.

Dubai Marina Mall Hosts Middle Easts First Urban Digital Art Show

Dubai Marina Mall, the definitive lifestyle, shopping and entertainment destination in New Dubai, has announced the launch of Contemporary Crosscurrents: Portraits and Electronic Arts. This will be the Middle East’s first urban digital art show, in association with the Streaming Museum from New York and Dolphin Creative.

The exhibition, coinciding with Art Dubai, will be held from March 16 to April 9, 2011, and will showcase the work of local and international artists, in an exciting new digital format.

The 30-minute exhibition will be broadcast at hourly intervals during the mall’s operating hours, for three weeks, on the exterior digital screen near the entrance of Dubai Marina Mall. There will also be a gallery set up inside the mall at the Dome Atrium, where the exhibition will be screened and information on the artists and the exhibition displayed.

The Streaming Museum includes 27 urban screens and other interactive, digital public displays.

Participants of the digital art show include local artists from Zayed University and American University of Dubai; two artists represented by Dubai’s Third Line Gallery; and international artists from North & South America, Asia and Europe. The curators are using the exhibition to stimulate interest for permanent urban screens to be established in key sites within the Middle East.

Dubai Marina Mall Unveils Spectacular Water Tree

Dubai Marina Mall, the definitive lifestyle, shopping and entertainment destination in New Dubai, unveils a must-visit attraction – a spectacular water tree.

At 7.5 metres (24 ft) high, the water tree is the first of its kind in the region, with previous water trees set up in the US and Europe rising to only about half the height. The water tree at Dubai Marina Mall will continue through the winter months.

Essentially an intricate network of nozzles, jets and pipes, the water feature is set around a pool and creates the illusion of a beautifully structured tree, complemented by dancing lights.

Visitors to the mall – developed and managed by Emaar Malls Group – in the heart of the Dubai Marina community will now have an added leisure experience with the water tree set to become another must-see on Dubai’s tourism itinerary.

Designed and executed by water engineering experts and designers from France, the water tree has an intricate network of bead like water jets. They spray the 30,000 litres of water in an 8mx8m pool, creating a stunning visual experience, as the water shimmers through dazzling light rays.

Dubai Marina Mall Celebrates Winter Football Fiesta

The Football Fiesta will be held until November 14, 2010, at the Dome Atrium on the ground floor of the mall from 1pm to 8pm from Sunday to Wednesday and 12noon to 9pm on weekends.

The first boutique cinema in the UAE, the premier Reel Cinemas in Dubai Marina Mall, opens doors to film-lovers tomorrow (July 22, 2010).

Mourjan Marinas IGY Establishes A Strategic Presence In The Lucrative Black Sea Marina Market
