Nasdaq Dubai Signs MoU With Middle East Investor Relations Society

In a move to promote best investor relations practices across the region, NASDAQ Dubai and the Middle East Investor Relations Society (ME-IR Society) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Under the terms of the agreement, NASDAQ Dubai and ME-IR Society will work together to provide educational seminars and initiatives for issuers, potential issuers and their advisors, as well as enhance understanding of how listed companies can communicate most effectively with the public.

Jeff Singer, Chief Executive of NASDAQ Dubai, said: “Transparency and timely delivery of accurate information are key to promoting investor confidence in listed companies.

“The ME-IR Society is an excellent forum for assisting issuers with many aspects of investor relations and for learning more about their views and their investor relations needs, as well as the opinions of the investing public.”

Through the Exchange’s Advisory membership status, NASDAQ Dubai issuers can obtain discounted membership of the ME-IR Society. In addition, NASDAQ Dubai will offer its premises for ME-IR Society events.

“The ME-IR Society and NASDAQ Dubai share a common goal – to actively promote IR best practices in the Middle East,” said Gretchen Haynes, General Manager, ME – IR Society. “Given the current market conditions, IR professionals play an increasingly significant role. The Society is committed to providing IR professionals with access to the necessary tools, knowledge and training to overcome the challenges they face. Our MoU with NASDAQ Dubai is another step in this direction.”

The Middle East Investor Relations Society was established in 2008 and aims to ensure that regional companies have access to the necessary tools, resources and network of experts to support them in their efforts to adopt and implement best practice investor relations.


Community Development Authority, EIDA Sign MoU To Benefit From Population Registration & Identity Card Programme

The Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai and the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to leverage the advantages of the Population Registration and Identity Card Programme by facilitating internal transactions related to customers’ registration processes and identity. The MoU is part of joint efforts to contribute to the UAE’s economic and social development and to achieve excellence in customer service.

As per the MoU, the two parties will benefit from ID programmes to support services provided by CDA to facilitate the process of forming a unified data base for improving social services in Dubai. The two parties will also benefit from the applications provided by identity cards such as storing special data related to social services, updating customers’ data and exchanging technical expertise.

EIDA will provide CDA with various reports on Dubai’s population to facilitate statistics, analysis and planning processes. It will also find the mechanisms to ensure the protection and safety of electronic identity cards and customers’ privacy whether individuals, government and non-governmental organizations.

Her Excellency Dr Maryam Matar, Director General of the CDA, and His Excellency H.E. Darwish Al Zarouni, Director General of Emirates Identity Authority, signed the agreement at a special ceremony held, recently, at CDA’s headquarters in the presence of Mr Ahmed Al Muhairi, Executive Director, Societies Centres, CDA; and the concerned staff from the Department of Information Technology.


DMI Signs Mou With AUE To Help Students Develop Media-Related Skills

Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), one of the pioneering media organizations and creative services group in the Middle East, today announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the American University in the Emirates (AUE) as part of its broader strategy to contribute to human resource development in the country.

Reflecting DMI’s strategy to enhance relationship with government authorities and academic institutions in the UAE, the agreement complements its core objective to build capacities in the technical, media, creative, engineering, and administrative fields.

The press conference held in DMI training centre in the presence of Dr. Muthanna Ghani Abdul Razik, President of the AUE; Faisal Abdulla, Board Member, DMI; Wajdan Mohd Dahkooni, Acting Human Resource Director, DMI,

The agreement mandates the exchange of academic, training, and consulting services and experiences between the two entities. While DMI will provide in-depth training to AUE students and utilize their skills for research studies and promotional campaigns, AUE will offer media-related training courses to DMI employees at concessional costs.

Ahmed Abdulla Al Sheikh, Board Member and Managing Director of DMI, and Media Escort for His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: “The agreement with AUE falls within our framework that calls for motivating our employees and developing their professional and creative capabilities to help them enhance their performance and skills.

“The MoU is in line with DMI’s endeavour to partner with prominent universities and leading international academic institutions and expose aspiring young professionals to state-of-the-art equipment and techniques. We are also committed to training students on the use of modern technologies available with DMI.”

Mohammed Saleh Bin Bendouh Al Darmukhi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, AUE, said: “We are privileged to partner with DMI. We are confident this initiative will significantly facilitate the creation of opportunities for our students to obtain practical skills and experience in various media segments.”

Dr. Muthanna Ghani Abdul Razik, said: “The MoU with DMI will enable university students to get acquainted with specific requirements in media-related skills as demanded by the job market. It will also expand and update the scope of our academic programmes and bring them on par with the dynamic growth of the media sector.

British Business Group, Dubai And The Northern Emirates Signs Strategic MoU With Entrepreneur Business Village (EBV)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by the British Business Group, Dubai and the Northern Emirates (BBG) with the Entrepreneur Business Village to partner in supporting and developing the SME sector in Dubai.

The Entrepreneur Business Village (EBV) is an initiative of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders and is planned to be the centre for entrepreneurship in Dubai and the region.

Located in Deira, the EBV project comprises a 60,000 sq ft mixed use business incubator, surrounded by
commercial and business organizations that are directly engaged in supporting and providing services to foster entrepreneurship and SMEs.

Commenting on the MoU, Mark Beer, Chairman and CEO of the BBG said, “The BBG is pleased to be the first business group to sign the partnership with the EBV for this forward looking venture. The SME sector is a vital part both of Dubai’s economy and the BBG membership. By supporting the EBV through the signing of this MoU, we will be continuing to contribute to Dubai’s economic development and further enhancing the strong links that exist between the UAE and UK linked businesses.”

Through the signing of the MoU, the BBG and EBV will work as a strong partnership in the sharing of relevant information and exchanging of experiences, thus developing a better understanding of the capabilities of the respective groups and their members.

The BBG will encourage its members to become part of the EBV community and, in turn, the EBV will provide business incubation support and mentoring help via the The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders.

Commenting on this collaboration, Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment, said: “We are delighted to sign this MOU with the BBG which will enhance the partnership between the two parties in exchanging information and experiences regarding the members of MBRE.
