Oasis Centre, widely regarded as Dubai’s friendliest mall, today announced a tie-up with the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board and Singapore Airlines to offer 64 lucky individuals special vacation packages to Malaysia during the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid-Al-Fitr holidays.
For every AED200 spent at Oasis Centre, shoppers will receive a raffle coupon to enter the daily draw that will be held at the end of each day from 11 August - 13 September. Winners will receive a full vacation package for two, including airline tickets and a bed-and-breakfast accommodation for three days/two nights in one of the four-star hotels in Kuala Lumpur, with airport transfers.
The promotion at the Oasis Centre will also be accompanied by a variety of activities to mark the holy month. A Ramadan tent will be set up for the entire month, where shoppers and their families will be served kahwa and dates. Oasis Centre Adds to Summertime Excitement with Edutainment Activities for Kids

Oasis Centre today announced it has lined up a series of edutainment activities including art workshops for children of all ages, as part of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) programme.
The activities that took off on 15 July will run through four weekends and include workshops on glitter art (‘Glitterati’), creating decorative frames (‘Framed’), ceramic painting (‘Ceramique’), use of sand in art (‘Sand-pit’), bead-jewellery designing (‘Bejewelled’) and etching custom-decorated mugs (‘Mug-shot’).
Oasis Centre is providing all the resources required for the workshops that are being conducted for free as part of the mall’s endeavour to promote creativity among the young and offer meaningful activities during their summer vacation.

Home Centre’s remaining outlets across the UAE will take turns in hosting the contest through the following three weekends.
Funcity, which hosted ‘Summer Fun’ programmes at its outlets across Dubai in association with Pfizer, conducted a training workshop on the performing arts for children. The children who participated in the workshop were given an opportunity to showcase their newly acquired talent on stage in a grand finale at the Oasis Centre on 16 July.

Dubai Silicon Oasis Marks World Environment Day 2010

Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, today announced the launch of ‘Go Green’ campaign to mark the United Nations World Environment Day 2010, in collaboration with Dubai Festival City. The campaign will be held from June 3 to June 5.
Planned as a 3-day event, the first day of the campaign will be hosted at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority Headquarters, and will include environment-friendly initiatives such as planting of saplings within the DSO
community. The event will be open to all DSO customers and employees.
The second and third day will be hosted at the Dubai Festival City, where numerous initiatives will be implemented to educate Dubai shoppers on the need to become environmentally-conscious. These will include distribution of informative materials, displays on the virtues of green technology and giving out of information and advice to visitors of the center.
The entire range of activities organized by DSO aims to engage employees and companies operating at the technology park and the Dubai community in general.

Dubai Silicon Oasis And General Information Authority Organize Blood Donation Campaign

Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), an integrated free zone technology park, and General Information Authority (GIA), in collaboration with Dubai Health Authority (DHA), organized a one-day blood donation drive at the headquarters of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA).
Held on 20 June, the initiative witnessed a significant number of DSOA employees and customers volunteering to donate blood in aid of ‘Thalassemia’ patients as well as those in need of blood.
The blood donation drive was organized to mark the World Blood Donor’s Day. Set annually by World Health Organisation (WHO) for 14 June, the day acknowledged the gesture of millions of people around the world who volunteer to donate their blood for saving the lives of others or enhancing the chances of their recovery from various diseases. The 2010 event focused on young blood donors with its slogan ‘New blood for the world’.
Dr Juma Al Matrooshi, Executive Vice President – Corporate Excellence and Support - DSOA said: “DSOA’s participation emphasizes the approach it takes as an integrated community that seeks to enhance the bonds of communication and harmony. We are pleased to co-operate with two of the most significant institutions that are keen to provide services to the society through humanitarian initiatives and activities.”

Arts Oasis Extended Till July 21 As Wafi Sees Popular Demand For DSS Signature Event

Arts Oasis, the DSS 2009 Signature Event that was supposed to conclude on July 15, will culminate on July 21 owing to popular demand. Over 30 Dubai-based artists are showcasing works of art including paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, and even a video. The event has gained prominence this year with the theme ‘Green Vision’ that aims to highlight the importance of environment conservation.
Initiated in the summer of 2006, Arts Oasis has enjoyed overwhelming popularity since its inception and is today regarded as a platform for artists locally and regionally to reach out to a wider audience.
Arts Oasis took on a different perspective this year with around 10 multi-national artists going in for an intensive artist residency programme where participants had the opportunity to explore questions on sustainability through their own media and practices.
The artists were in regular discussions with well-known curators Beth Carruthers and Elizabeth Monoion to come up with works aligned with the Green Vision theme. These works are currently being displayed in Arts Oasis. The works of three artists, Zain Mustafa, Robert Ferry, Haseena Sakhri, were chosen and awarded for their ability to incorporate the ‘Green Vision’ theme successfully.
The presence of multi-national participants aims to add to the diversity of the event with artists from UAE, India, Philippines, UK, US, Ireland, Canada, Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan. Arts Oasis will go on till July 15th at the Eye of Horus in Wafi from 10am to 10pm.
