The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy today revealed its strategic partnerships and sponsors for Dubai Global Energy Forum 2011, which include a host of reputable regional and international organisations. Under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) will organize the Sixth Gulf Engineering Conference “GEC”, entitled "Towards Comprehensive and Sustainable Technology" and "Woman in Engineering, Science and Technology Forum” stemming from the GEC under the banner of “For a Better Planet” from 19th to 22nd February, 2011.
H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will inaugurate the first day of the GEC on Sunday, 20th February, 2011 at Grand Hayatt Dubai Hotel, while Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade, will inaugurate the "Woman in Engineering, Science and Technology Forum” on Saturday 19 February, 2011 at Raffles Dubai Hotel.

Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi will deliver a speech at the event. She will talk about woman contributions in science and technology career and its leading role in achieving sustainable development. Key women figures, specialists and researchers from GCC sates as well as experts from various parts of the world representing world renowned universities, global companies and a great number of civil society organizations will attend the event.
The event will tackle primary areas including energy, electrical power, industrial and technological applications, communications science, information technology, electronics sector, electronic control systems, digital signals processing and machine learning.

Arab Asian Beverage Meeting, is scheduled to be held in conjunction with Dubai Drink Technology Expo with the support of the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and in collaboration with Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) and the Department of Naturalizations and Residency in Dubai as a strategic partner of the event.

It will focus on topics related to market trends and growth in beverages industry, industry challenges and solutions, protect the environment and going green in the beverages industry in addition to other success stories.
Business to Business meetings program will be held in the exhibition to increase the interaction between trade visitors and exhibitors. It is a matching program that assists in enhancing business and trading deals during the event.
Dubai Drink Technology Expo presents worldwide range of products and services in the area of beverage technology and liquid food. GIA To Offer Its First Pearl Classes In Dubai

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will present, for the first time, two pearl classes in Dubai. Both classes will run next week.
The first conference is a two-day Pearl Class that will run May 12-13, from 9 am-4 pm. It will be held with the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group at the Dubai Gold Land Building. The class costs USD 225 for DGJG members and USD 250 for non-members.
Students finishing the class will receive a GIA Letter of Completion.
The second workshop is a one-day Pearl and Bead Stringing class. It will be held May 14 from 9 am-4 pm. Again the venue will be with the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group in the Dubai Gold Land Building. The class costs USD 150 for DGJG members and USD 175 for non-members.
Students completing this class will also receive a GIA Letter of Completion.
According to Judith Anand, GIA’s manager –Dubai Laboratory Services, “Once GIA established a presence here in Dubai, we wanted to quickly begin offering our classes to the people of Dubai and the surrounding region.”
“Because pearls are very important in Dubai, we offering some of our pearl classes first. Other GIA educational opportunities will follow,” Anand said.
GIA Dubai is located in the Dubai Airport Free Zone.
