UAE Jet Ski Championship Held Off The Coast Of The Walk At Jumeirah Beach Residence During New Years Weekend

The Gulfwater offthe coast ofThe Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), a Dubai Properties Group destination, was the host venue for the UAE Jet Ski Championship over New Year’s weekend, organised by Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC).

Held on1 January 2011, the event offeredspectators extraordinary Jet Ski racing action on the beachfront along with an opportunity to see riders demonstrate a range of gravity-defying jumps and demanding turns.

Jun Ikoma from Japan won the Free Style event and World Champion Nadir Bin Hendi from the UAE had a convincing win in the Pro Runabout GP class. Steven Dauliach from France took the top prize in the Pro Ski GP with the UAE’s Saif Mohammed Saif Al Ma’asam winning the Junior Ski. In addition Omar Abdullah Rashid won the Ski Limited for the UAE and Kuwait’s Mohammed Jasem Al Baz won in the Runabout Stock.

The Walk has hosted several successful eventson shore including cultural, art and entertainment activities throughout the year, but this is the first time the destination hasbeen chosen for watersports along the promenade.

Following thesuccess of this weekend’s event, the second round of the Jet Ski Championships will be held at The Walk on January 8th.

Al Bustan Centre Residence Hosts Participants Of 3rd Fazza International Powerlifting Championship

Al Bustan Centre & Residence, the deluxe property which offers world-class services and facilities in the city, played host to more than 128 athletes from 28 countries that participated in the 3rd Fazza International Powerlifting Championship – male & female – held in Dubai recently.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the Fazza International Powerlifting Championship is an annual sports tournament open to athletes with disabilities who are eligible for competition under the rules and regulations of International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Santa Claus Takes Up Residence At The Walk As Part Of 10-Day Seasonal Fun At Jumeirah Beach Residence Destination

Santa Claus is coming to The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), a Dubai Properties Group destination, when the beachfront promenade hosts a 10-day lineup of fun-filled, family focused, seasonal activities.

From 23 December – 1 January, The Walk will feature several Christmas trees, as well as themed signage showing the way to various Plaza stair events.

Santa Claus will welcome visitors to his grotto at the Sadaf plaza from 5:00pm to 12:00midnight throughout the 10-days of Christmas festivity. In addition to meeting Santa, children and their families can also join in the carol singing, free face painting and portrait drawing activities. Stilt walkers, acrobats, bubble musicians, snowmen and live statues will add to the merriment at The Walk.

The Rimal Plaza will be the venue for Santa’s Christmas Show on 23 and 24 December at 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Entry to the show will require the purchase of a balloon from the dedicated desk at Covent Garden Market that will also entitle the guest to a choice of goody bags or toys. The Market will also overflow with Christmas goodies, including home-made cookies and cakes.

The venue hosted recently the successful week-long ‘Rhythm and Reels’ festival as part of its association with the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF).
